  • Crochet cat paw keychain

    Crochet cat paw keychain

Here is a quick and easy crochet project for all cat lovers around the world.

    crochet cat paw

Materials and tools you will need

    1. Crochet hook – size 2 mm
    2. Yarn: Alize Silky Effect, colors of your choice, I used cream white and pink.
    3. A handful of silicone fiber toy stuffing
    4. A keychain ring and chain
    5. Sewing needle and a tapestry needle

    Crochet cat paw

Start by making two circles in white yarn. Crochet in continuous rounds.

    1. 6 sc in mr (6)
    2. 6 inc2sc (12)
    3. [ 1 sc, 1 inc2sc ] x 6 (18)
    4. [ 2 sc, 1 inc2sc ] x 6 (24)
    5. [ 3 sc, 1 inc2sc ] x 6 (30)
    6. [ 4 sc, 1 inc2sc ] x 6 (36)
    7. [ 5 sc, 1 inc2sc ] x 6 (42)

When the first circle is done, fasten off and WIT.

For the second circle don’t fasten off just yet; we will need the working yarn later to join the two circles.

    Toe beans

Now prepare the tow beans. They are simply four small individual circles in pink yarn.

To crochet them, make 6 sc in a mr.

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Use tapestry needle to join the first and the last stitch if the round.

    Cat paw pad

To crochet the cat paw pad, again, work in continuous rounds.

    1. 6 sc in mr (6)
    2. 6 inc2sc (12)
    3. 1 sc, ( 1 hdc, 4 dc ) in the same st, 2 sc, ( 4 dc, 1 hdc ) in the same st, 1 sc

Fasten off. Leave a longer tail for sewing.

    Assembling

Take the first white circle and arrange the toe beans and the paw pad on its surface.

Use a tapestry needle to sew the toes and the pad to the crochet cat paw surface.

When this is done, take both paw sides (white circles), hold then wrong sides together, and align their edges.

Take your crochet hook and join the two circles together by making a sc in every stitch of the last round of a circle. As you do so, make sure to insert your hook through both layers/circles.

Just before you finish joining the paw sides, stop and insert silicone fiber stuffing. Stuff it firmly and then finish joining the sides.

Fasten off, but still leave tail long enough to sew keychain to the back of the cat paw.

Finally, take your chain and sew it to the back of the paw, near the top paw edge.

If you find it easier, follow this video to crochet your adorable cat paw keychain.

Thank you for visiting! Enjoy you cat paw keychain and a lucky charm!

  • Crochet fingerless mittens yourself [video]

    Crochet fingerless mittens yourself [video]

Here is one quick and easy crochet project good for creatives of all skill levels, including beginners. Let’s crochet fingerless mittens together.

Watch the video below to learn how to crochet fingerless mittens on your own in less than a day.

Crocheted fingerless mittens from grey yarn
    Fingerless mittens

There is a very simple twist to the basic single crochet stitch that will the interesting and textured look to your mittens.

Materials and tools you will need:

    1. Yarn – I used Superlana Alize Midi
    2. Crochet hook – I used crochet hook size 4 mm
    3. Tapestry needle
    4. Scissors/snips

    Let’s get to work!

Start by making a cuff. Crochet the cuff in rows, work in back loops only, and make it as long as neccessary to comfortably wrap it around your wrist.

As soon you achieve this length, start crocheting the main portion of a mitten. Continue to work in rows, only this time along the long side of the cuff. The video demonstration will show you the stitch combination for the mitten. The total length of your glove depends on the size of your hand, as well as your preferences.

When the crochet is done, the only thing left to do is to stitch together the side edges of your glove. Use a tapestry needle to join the edges together, and make sure, as you are sewing, to leave a portion of this seam unstitched. This opening will serve as a slit for your thumb.

To derermine the exact position and length of the thumb slit, try on your mitten as you are sewing the edges together. Its length and position should be custom to your hand.

    Finally, weave in yarn ends.

Repeat the steps for the other mitten as well.

    That’s it!

    xoxo
