“Happy 2026” Giveaway Rules

1. Organizer

This giveaway is organized by Ana Zlatkovic | Kato Patterns (the “Organizer”).

2. Purpose

The purpose of this giveaway is to thank the community that supports Kato’s work and to encourage the continued growth of an engaged and appreciative audience.

3. Eligibility

Participation in the giveaway is open to individuals who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry (or have parental/legal guardian consent if required by local law)
  • Are subscribed to Kato newsletter
  • Are not prohibited from participating under applicable laws

The giveaway is void where prohibited by law.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

4. Giveaway Period

Entry period starts on: December 31, 2025, 12:00 p.m. (CET)

Entry period closes on: January 15, 2026, 08:00 p.m. (CET)

Entries submitted outside of the giveaway entry period will not be eligible to win.

The winners will be drawn on January 17, 2026, 12:00 p.m. (CET)

5. How to Enter

To participate, entrants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Already be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. By entering, participant confirms that they meet this criteria.
  2. Be subscribed to Kato newsletter.
    • Existing subscribers will receive an invitation for this giveaway as a part of a weekly email newsletter, which will provide instructions on how to proceed if they want to participate in this giveaway.
    • Individuals who want to become subscribers and participate in this giveaway should enter their name and email address via the official giveaway landing page: https://katopatterns.com/happy-2026/.

Once subscribed, participants will receive an email to confirm their subscription/participation. This is just to ensure that the owner of the email address is actually the one who subscribed, and not somebody else using their email address.

Only confirmed email subscribers count as valid entries.

Only one (1) entry/email per person is allowed. Multiple entries using different email addresses may result in disqualification at the organizer’s discretion.

6. Giveaway Privacy Codes, Privacy & Data Protection

A day prior to the draw (January 16, 2026), participants will receive an email with a unique giveaway privacy code tied to their email subscription.

Privacy codes are used for the public winner draw and announcement instead of names or email addresses to protect participants’ privacy.

“Wheel of names” online tool used for winner selection will not have access to participants’ personal data.

The Organizer will contact winners privately via the email address used to enter.

Personal data collected (such as name and email address) will:

  • be used to administer the giveaway,
  • be used for email communication,
  • not be shared with third parties.

For the purpose of communication with subscribers, the MailerLite service and tool is used, which acts as a data processor and handles data according to robust security measures outlined in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

7. Email Communication

By entering the giveaway, participants agree to receive:

  • giveaway-related emails
  • winner announcements
  • weekly newsletter with updates and information about new Kato patterns, discounts, givaways, creative projects, etc.

Participants may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. At that point, their personal data will be deleted.

Unsubscribing before the winner announcement will result in forfeiting eligibility.

8. Prizes

Five (5) winners will receive one (1) digital crochet pattern each. Every winner will choose one pattern from selected patterns listed below:

  1. Teddy Love baby blanket pattern
  2. Love Bearer amigurumi pattern
  3. Elephant in the room blanket pattern
  4. Easter bunny onesie pattern
  5. Puppy stroller blanket pattern

The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and may not be exchanged for cash.

All prizes are delivered digitally.

No physical items will be shipped.

9. Pattern Usage & International Property Rights

All crochet patterns provided as giveaway prizes are registered designs and copyrighted works belonging to the Organizer.

By accepting a prize, winners agree to the following conditions:

  • The patterns are licensed for personal use only.
  • The patterns must not be:
    • translated into other languages
    • published (in part or in full)
    • shared digitally or physically
    • sold, resold, redistributed, or sublicensed
    • included in collections, bundles, or teaching materials
  • Finished items made using the patterns may be gifted, but commercial use require a separate license.

Any unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of the patterns constitutes a violation of intellectual property rights.

10. Winner Selection

Winners will be selected randomly from all eligible entries
on January 17, 2026, 12:00 p.m. (CET), using “Wheel of names” online tool.

Five unique participants’ codes drawn with the help of “Wheel of names” online tool represent five winners.

The draw will be recorded and the video will be published on https://katopatterns.com/happy-2026-giveaway-winners/
as well as on
Kato YouTube channel.

One person can only be drawn as a winner once. In case a random picker tool draws the same person/code more than once, the selection will be repaeted until the new winner is drawn.

11. Winner Announcement , Claiming the Prize & Prize Delivery

The winners (winners’ unique privacy codes) will be confirmed and announced within 24 hours from the draw:

Winners will also be contacted privately via email. They must respond to the email within 7 days to claim the prize they have chosen from the pool of possible prizes.

If a winner does not respond within 7 days, they forfeit the right to claim the prize and Organizer reserves the right to select another winner.

Every of the five prizes will be delivered to thier respective winners electronically, via email.

12. Disqualification

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

  • Violates these rules
  • Uses fraudulent methods or automated entries
  • Attempts to manipulate the giveaway
  • Engages in abusive, offensive, or inappropriate behavior

13. Limitation of Liability

The Organizer is not responsible for:

  • lost, delayed, or misdirected emails
  • technical issues affecting entry submission
  • errors beyond reasonable control

By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer from any liability arising from the giveaway.

14. Platform Disclaimer

This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any social or marketplace platform.

By participating, entrants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Organizer.

15. Changes & Cancellation

The Organizer reserves the right to:

  • Modify these rules
  • Suspend or cancel the giveaway

If circumstances arise beyond the Organizer’s control, changes will be communicated clearly.

16. Acceptance of Rules

By participating in this giveaway, entrants confirm that they have read, understood, and thay agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

UPDATE January 17, 2016: Online tool initially planned for winner selection was Lucky Draw. On the day of the draw, January 17, 2027, this tool was inaccessible due to exceeding bandwidth quota. Therefore, for the purpose of this giveaway and winner selection, “Wheel of names” tool was used.
