Here is a quick guide on hot to download digital files you purchased on Etsy. That can be digital crochet patterns, sewing patterns, digital illustrations… any kind of digital product that vast Etsy’s community of creative sellers offers.
Being an Etsy seller myself, I fairly regularly get asked for help regarding the download of digital files.
In case you also need help with the downloading options and steps, this text is for you.
There are two easy ways to access and download digital files from Etsy.
1. Download digital files via Etsy transaction email
Whenever you buy a digital item from one of Etsy’s sellers, after the purchase, Etsy sends you an automated email that confirms your transaction.
This email contains details of your purchase, and it usually has a subject line that says “Download Your Etsy Purchase from…”.
When you open this email, besides your order’s details, there is also a button “View your files on Etsy”. Click this button and it will take you to Etsy, to a page that keeps the files you purchased.
On this page, there is a “Download” button next to the file. Click it to finally download your file.
2. Access your digital files from your Etsy account
Another option is to log in to your Etsy account.
NOTE: Make sure you do this from your browser, not the Etsy app, as downloading digital files from Etsy app is currently not possible.
Once you are logged in, click your profile icon.
This will open a drop-down menu, and from that menu, click on “Purchases” option.
Clicking the “Purchases” option will take you to a page with all your purchases on Etsy.
Scroll down this page until you find an item that you want to download. The “Download files” button will be next to the purchased item, on the right side of the page.
Click this button to complete the download of your digital files.
